Richard B. Cheney has been a public servant over a number of years, and also is an entrepreneur who has made a name for himself. He currently serves as the Vice-President of the United States. Cheney has become a regular face in the Washington scene of politics and has been under various U.S. presidents George W. Bush will be the fourth and as the elected president. Bush picked Cheney on July 20, 2000 to be his vice-presidential running mate, commenting on Cheney's wisdom and judgment. Dick Cheney served as the chief of staff for the president, served as an elected Member of Congress and was secretary of defence. Both Republicans as well as Democrats appreciate his integrity. Cheney says he sees his role in the Obama administration as of an honest but professional adviser to Bush. Cheney has accepted the Republican Vice-Presidential nomination in 2007, stated that the he would be looking forward to working under a president who can work across political lines and cooperate with political adversaries by fostering goodwill and working towards a common purpose. Richard Bruce Cheney is the son Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born on January 30, 1941 in Lincoln Nebraska. In 1941, when Richard Bruce Cheney turned 13 the family of Richard Bruce Cheney moved from Lincoln Nebraska to Casper Wyoming in the state where his father worked for his position as the head of U.S. Department of Agriculture's local soil conservation districts.
